My Favorite Women in Video Games: Elena Fisher

Games she appeared in: The Uncharted series

Is she being rescued/saved as a key plot point: Elena has been known to craft a good rescue plan.

For our video game BFF date, we would: Either go adventuring to find lost treasure or watch RuPaul's Drag Race together, depending if she wants a slow night of reality tv or not.

When I first bought my PS3, anyone who knew the type of games I loved to play immediately suggested that we buy Uncharted. To all of those people, you were completely right that I would love it but probably not for the reason you thought. Yes, Nathan Drake is an awesome protagonist and yes, the game is visually beautiful. Yes, it reminds me of Pitfall and yes, the voice acting it great. But what I really love (besides everything I've already listed) is the character of Elena Fisher and her relationship with Nathan Drake. A reporter who isn't afraid to get her hands a little dirty, Elena is a perfect match for the adventuring Nathan. She always has a joke to lighten a situation, but is also extremely compassionate towards other characters.

One of the most unique parts of the Uncharted game is its depiction of Elena and Nathan's relationship as an adult partnership that has realistic ups and downs. It is not a one-dimensional love story, but rather two people navigating and negotiating their life together. While this might be happening during action adventure sequences where you are making witty quips and finding treasure, it adds another layer of depth into what is already an entertaining game.
